The Girls in the AtticThe Girls in the Attic by Marius Gabriel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Plot. The story begins in modern day with an older woman telling her 60-year-old daughter about being a Jewish girl in WWII. Flashback to the 1940s and an injured German soldier returning home to recuperate. He discovers his mother has been harboring two Jewish girls.

Although a fictional story, the devastation of Germany and the suffering of civilians is historically accurate.

No sex, no objectionable language. Narration is fine. Written by Marius Gabriel, narrated by Mary Jane Wells, 10.5 hours of listening in unabridged audiobook format and released in June 2021 by Brilliance Audio.
