DreamcatcherDreamcatcher by Stephen King
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Plot. We’ve been invaded by aliens – been happening ever since Roswell, but the government keeps this all under wraps, of course. Today, four men take a yearly winter hunting trip and … well, the aliens are in play. The story flashbacks to these same four men as kids who befriend and protect another boy stricken with downs-syndrome. Typical of King, the aliens are nasty, grizzly, weird – like they implant and breed in body cavities – but they also lay eggs – confused.

The story is very disjointed – characters jumping into the plot from nowhere – difficult to follow. The story was written by King following the accident that nearly took his life, while he was in considerable pain. The crazy is crazier than usual. I enjoy most of King’s work – but, this isn’t in his league. BTW, King thinks Dreamcatcher is one of his worst – I agree.

Written by Stephen King, narrated by Jeffrey DeMunn, about 23 hours of listening in unabridged audiobook format, released in February 2001 by Simon & Schuster Audio.

Not recommended.
