Camino IslandCamino Island by John Grisham
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Camino Island and Camino Winds are the first two books in a series by John Grisham. IMO, he should stop with the two books and go back to his proven fortè of the legal thriller like A Time to Kill. This series isn’t even close.

Plot, Camino Island. The original long-hand renditions of five of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s transcripts are stolen and ultimately traced to a popular book store on the island.

Plot. Camino Winds. A writer, a patron of said book store, is murdered during a Cat-4 hurricane (really) on Camino Island and the book store owner does a Sherlock Holmes through the dead guy’s last book. 🙄

If you’re a diehard Grisham fan, you’ll be disappointed.

These books are clean, like all Grisham books, no sex, no objectionable language. However, nowhere near the standards of the talent of John Grisham.

Could have been written by a Writing-101 student bemoaning the foibles of writers.
