What a great read! I’m a long-time professor of literature and found the author’s mix of historical fact and compelling narrative combined to create a compelling read. The author is a skilled at her craft, understanding how to fashion compelling, realistic characters, using dialogue and description to bring her fictional people to life. She “shows, rather than tells,” so you really get caught up in the story. As a result, I found it difficult to put the book down. If you like a good story and rich historical texture, you’ll love this book. I just hope the author writes a sequel, because I enjoyed Yesterday so much!
